Field Day Wrap Up


KD4TA made 2 presentations of appreciation.
1.) An ARRL "When all else fails" license plate caddy was presented to Perry Carlton AE5EE (Not Present) for his willingness to stay 24hours at the Field Day site.
2.) An ARRL T-shirt was presented to Marlene Kessler KE5HQU (Not Present) for her dedication as the contest station crew chief at Field Day 2007

SONS (Spill of National Significance) Exercise Re-cap


Glenn N5GK and Wayne KD4TA gave a brief recap of the SONS exercise. The FCARC had 4 member participating in the drill. AE5EE - Perry, KD4TA- Wayne, W5GHC - George, and N5GK - Glenn

New Business

EOC Equipment Committee


During our talk with count judge Scroggin, he encouraged the Faulkner Co. ARC to put together a list of equipment and capabilities we would like to put into place at the 911 call center on Hogan Rd. The following 4 committee member volunteered to gather this list and present their recommendations to the club before formalizing our request to the county judge. Committee members are. John Webb - WE4BB, Wayne Johnston - KD4TA, Glenn King - N5GK, and George Carroll - W5GHC

APRS Program


WE4BB put on a nice demonstration of APRS for those in attendance. He demonstrated some of the equipment he uses, gave some ideas on how to get set up for relative low costs, and some web-links to go to for more information. Those that were in attendance were very interested in the capabilities of APRS.

The national VHF frequency for APRS = 144.390 FM

Announcements
This upcoming Saturday July 14th, Glenn would like some help to test the DB224 Antenna that he has prepared with the 70cm loops to ensure that it will work for both 2 meter and 70cm repeaters.

Glenn King volunteered to be the 2 Meter net control for August.
