There is also a new membership form and ARES commitment form that ALL members need to fill out. If you can't attend a meeting or lunch, please go to the club's website and download a form. The address to send the form in is on the form. The follow web address will take you directly to the form: http://www.w5auu.org/files/FCARC_Membership_Form.pdf

Old Business

Website & Members' Only Section

Frankie Parks now has the new website up and running. Frankie asked that members send him comments about the new website. He is working on the members' only section.

Deadmen At Repeater Site

Glenn reported that the deadmen are now installed at the repeater site. Glenn said that the only thing we need is a tower climber to put up the antennas and guide wires.

CAREN Club Certificates For FCARC Members

Chester announced that Mark Barnhard of the CAREN club had sent certificates of appreciation to the members of the FCARC club that helped during the Big Dam Bridge 100 bike race. The CAREN club has expressed their appreciation to the club several times, Chester also stated.

New Business

Gift Basket For Perry Carleton, AE5EE

Craig reported that the club had agreed to send Perry a gift basket with some items to help him feel better and pass the time while he is recovering from his tower accident. The items included two woodworking magazines, two word-puzzle books, a six-pack of Dr. Pepper, some cookies from Maggie's Cookies, a bottle of Tums to help his bones heal (they have calcium), and a get well card signed by all the members of the club that had made the previous Friday lunch and tonight's meeting. The Fills had also put a box of chocolates in there for him as well. The total cost was $28.90.

Personal note from Craig: I delivered the gift basket to Perry on Wed. the 13th. He was extremely happy to get it and appreciated it very much. Perry looked well and said he was feeling well. He has been having some problems on the painkillers they were giving him. He spoke to the doctor and they switched him to just straight Ibuprophen, which Perry said was doing the job of stopping the pain. And if you have a chance to go see him, please do so. He could sure use the company to help pass the time. The best time he said to visit is from 6pm to 9pm.

Tower Jack

With all the current tower takedowns and installations, the club has purchased a tower jack to assist with this task. It helps to break tower segments apart and also with aligning the segments during installation. It is a very high quality jack and will handle Rohn 25, 35, 45, and 55 towers. The cost of the jack was $155.27. George Carroll had placed the order. A motion to reimburse George was made by Wayne Johnston and seconded by Frankie Parks. The motion carried and the jack will be stored at Glenn's with all the other tools and equipment the club owns.

New Tower Climber

As mentioned, the club needs someone that is willing to climb towers. If you are willing, please let one of the club officers know.

Donations

Chester Robinson had some items to auction off with the proceeds going to the club. Most of the items were hand made wood products that Chester had made years ago. The club received $12.50 from these donated items.
Glenn King also had seven years of QST magazines in his truck that he gave away.
Also, Ken Chafin brought copy of "Now You're Talking" and donated to the club. This is the most current edition of the book used to study for the amateur technician test.

New Officers For 2007

The elections went very quickly this year as in years past. Chester made a nomination for Frankie Parks to be president and Wayne Johnston to be vice president. Glenn King seconded the nomination. A vote was called for, and these two members were elected to these positions. Glenn King will remain the club's custodian and Craig Mangrum will remain the club's secretary & treasurer.

Short Presentation

Wayne Johnston brought a few more small stoves and showed them to the club.
