President, Chester Robinson, called the meeting to order at 18:25

Old Business
Toad Suck Daze Certificates
Glenn and Ken reported that all the requested certificates had been mailed out. Together, they reported mailing about 36 total.
Governor's School
On July 15th, several VE's from the FCARC tested at Hendrix for the Governor's School. Fourteen (14) students passed and are now new hams.
New Business
Club Donation Received
A donation of $20 was received from the Governor's School representative on July 15th in appreciation for our VE's assembling at Hendrix College every year to test the class of students. Our thanks to them for their donation.
(JOTA) Jamboree On The Air
Chester reported that the event will be held Oct 21 and 22 at the Damascus scout campgrounds. This year approximately 350 Webelos scouts, age 9-10 years old, will start arriving around 9:30 Saturday am.. Jon would like ideally, 3 stations set up. David Norris has confirmed his participation, Jim Blackmon and Georgia Seward have not yet responded. The operating schedule appears to be Saturday noon until 4:30pm, and Sunday 9:30am until 11:45am. There may be some radio activity later Saturday evening as well.
Big Dam Bike Race
This event celebrating the opening of the new walkway across the dam on the Arkansas River in Little Rock is on Sunday October 1. Details are sketchy, but it appears to be comprised of three course lengths, namely a 25, 50, and 100 mile course. The race will start in Little Rock at 7:30 am. at Cooks Landing. The 100 mile course will make a loop through Faulkner County and the city of Conway. The rest stop in Conway will be at UCA. Pat and Jerry, N5ZSN, N5WVI, and the CAREN Club crew have requested our help. More details will be available at our next meeting.
AR. Travelers 100
This event will be at the Lake Sylvia Recreation Area near Perryville, AR. on October 6, 7, and 8th. The 100 mile foot race begins at 6:00 am Saturday am runs around the clock until noon on Sunday. Anyone wishing to participate may contact the Caren Club.
ARRL EC001 Course
Wayne Johnston reported that the ARRL has a good course "Introduction to Amateur Radio Emergency Communications" available to members and non-members. The course with its certificate is $45 for members and $75 for non-members. Wayne has purchased the course and is now studying it. This is an introductory course on how to handle amateur radio communications in the event of an emergency.
Special Event Station W5R
Chester reported that there was a Special Event station for the White River Invitational Canoe race last week. A few hams present at the meeting said the frequency was too crowded to make contact.
Fair Parade
Glenn reported that discussion was ongoing on the Tuesday September 19 Th annual fair parade to be held in Conway. He will have more information at the next meeting. The FCARC plays a vital role during this parade, so be thinking about helping out that day.
S.E.T.
Glenn said that there was nothing new to report on the upcoming simulated emergency event. This years event is suppose to simulate an earthquake disaster. Its date has still not been firmed up yet.
