May 2-4 Salvation Army Disaster Training
Wayne Johnston gave a report on the Salvation Army Disaster Training that took place in Oklahoma. There were about 12 hams there from Arkansas. He said they had 10 trucks equipped for feeding people in disaster areas. Some amateurs from Jonesboro had an equipment trailer setup for testing of equipment.
He said that next year the Salvation Army is planning on having the event next year on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Toad Suck Daze Special Event Station
Glenn King reported that he made 83 contacts on 20m. The certificates have been designed and are ready to copy or print. But Glenn said that the machine at work was down and not working with the card stock paper he had planned to use.
Field Day 2006 T-shirts
There were not enough people wanting t-shirts so there was no order.
Field Day 2006
Field Day 2006 is coming up and will be June 24th and 25th. Field Day is officially from 1pm Saturday until 1pm Sunday. We will begin working to setup at 8 A.M. on Saturday and break down Sunday immediately after the event is over. Wayne Johnston has been working very, very hard getting things planned and ready. We have reserved Laural Park, behind Stoby's, on Robinson Avenue.
Wayne shared many more details about who is bringing what. I won't even try to give all those details. But hopefully it's going to be a big event this year. Please do your best to come out and help us all.
Craig passed around two signup sheets, one for operators and loggers and one for those planning on attending the dinner on Saturday night. Craig will email the club to try to get more members to sign up for operating and logging. He will also email the club to see if anyone has a canopy with a mosquito netting that we can use for the event.
Wayne Johnston made a display that will be used to make a public service announcement on Conway Corporation's cable TV channels. Glenn King is going to deliver the public service announcement to the Channel 81 department.
(A file containing all the information on what is needed, who is bringing what equipment, and what we will be doing is also attached to the meeting minutes. There is just too much information to post here. - Craig)

Deadmen
Glenn isn't sure when the deadmen will be ready to go in for the repeater. He will schedule a work day when he is sure.
Equipment To Donate
Glenn King mentioned that Bud Shamberger is getting out of amateur radio. Glenn said Bud has two vintage HF radios to donate to some hams that don't have the money or a way to get on the air. Please let Glenn know if you know of anyone that could use this equipment.
Also a motion was made by Wayne Johnston to set a time limit on Glenn holding the equipment before selling to highest bidder, then junking or giving it away. Glenn said he would store the equipment until the fall. Then a suggestion was made that if Glenn was going to keep it that long and there was still equipment left, that the club buy a table at the All State Hamfest in Jacksonville this September and try to sale it there. What was left over from there just be given away or trashed. Most of the members agreed with this idea.
Also, the club has made around $460 off past equipment given to the club to sale off.
Repeater Down
Glenn reported that the 146.625, Gerald Hogue's, repeater is down due to overheating again.
Chester Robinson made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Jim Durham. Meeting adjourned at 19:22.
2-Meter Net Reminder
The FCARC net meets each Thursday night at 7:30pm on 145.210MHz PL 114.8Hz. The Net Control Operator for June is Debbie McEntire, KC5BVO.
Don't forget about lunches at Smitty's BBQ on Fridays at around 11:00 am till we leave.
