Field Day 2006 is coming up and will be June 24th and 25th. Field Day is officially from 1pm Saturday until 1pm Sunday. We will begin working to setup at 8 A.M. on Saturday and break down Sunday immediately after the event is over. Wayne Johnston has been working very, very hard getting things planned and ready. We have reserved Laural Park, behind Stoby's, on Robinson Avenue.
Wayne has shared many details about what members have expressed they would like to do and what is planned. We are looking at have a really big setup this year and are going to try to get as many important local and county officials to come and see what amateur radio can do. So please be making plans to be there. We need to have as big of a group as possible to make the biggest impression that we can on these officials.
(A file containing all the information on what is needed, how is bringing what equipment, and what we will be doing is also attached to the meeting minutes. There is just too much information to post here. Craig)

Glenn suggested a repeater site word day this Saturday, May 13th. Meeting location will be at Shorty Small's on the corner of Hogan and Tyler, at 9am. From there, we'll proceed to the site and cut brush, repair a fence, and stake out the guy deadman locations. Volunteers are urged to bring brush cutting tools they may have on hand.
Ham Super Class
No one was sure if we need to participate in the upcoming Super School. Craig was not present.
(Amendment to minutes from Craig) I do have details on the Ham Super School. I don't know if our club will be asked to help in anyway or not. Here is the email I received earlier this month.
QST QST QST
I just received confirmation from St. Vincents of the dates for the upcoming Technician License class.
In Little Rock this will be at St. Vincents Hospital, in the 'Vincent de Paul' Room.
Saturday June 24th 8AM to 5PM and
Saturday July 1st 8AM to 3PM with VE Exam session from 3 to 5PM (VE's note, this session will require the 1 July 2006 question pool release.)
There will be time for breaks and lunch, and the Hospital Cafeteria is located right next to the class room.
This class will also be provided via microwave video link at other hospital locations around the state, and a list of those locations will be made available as soon as possible.
Based on early responses, this could possibly become one of the largest Licensing classes and VE sessions ever held.
Feel free to distribute this information as you see fit.
