Website: Members Only Section
Frankie Parks will be working on a Members Only Section for the www.w5auu.org website. When completed there we will be able to post things like equipment for sale / trade, get-togethers, antenna or tower raisings. We will let all members know when it is completed and how to get into this area.
Toad Suck Daze Special Event Station
The club is once again going to do a Toad Suck Daze special event station. However, this year it has been decided that all members that want to participate will work from home. Craig will be sending an email out to see when members want to work and what bands they are thinking about working. The club will operate from 9 A.M. until 4 P.M. on May 6th. We will not have a station or booth setup at the actual Toad Suck Daze Event.
Field Day 2006
Field Day 2006 is coming up and will be June 24th and 25th. Field Day is officially from 1pm Saturday until 1pm Sunday. We will begin working to setup at 8 A.M. on Saturday and break down Sunday immediately after the event is over.. Wayne Johnston has been working very, very hard getting things planned and ready. We have reserved Laural Park, behind Stoby's, on Robinson Avenue.
Wayne has shared many details about what members have expressed they would like to do and what is planned. There are so many details that I am not even going to attempt to share them all with you at this point. But we are looking at have a really big setup this year and are going to try to get as many important local and county officials to come and see what amateur radio can do. So please be making plans to be there. We need to have as big of a group as possible to make the biggest impression that we can on these officials.
Wayne will supply Craig with the details as soon as possible. We will bring everyone up to date as soon as possible as well.

Earl McGehee Silent Key
Earl McGehee, WB5GDM, passed away last month. Randy Harrington, N5RYG, spoke about how Earl was one of his elmers and professors in college. Randy told some stories about Mr. McGehee that showed how nice he was and how he helped many people out and was a down to earth person. A few members in the club remember Mr. McGehee from when he was a member. The club sent a card of sympathy to his wife and family.
