Power Poles & Repeater News
Glenn King still has power poles available.
LEPC Meeting
The Local Emergency Planning Committee will have their next meeting January 17th at 2pm. The meeting will be at the United Way building on Museum Road.
Sunday Log Cabin's New "Blueprint" Page
Craig read the prepared ad for the club. All agreed it sounded good. Craig will look at getting it placed in the paper.
MEMS / Hospital Exercise
Perry Carleton said there is a HIPPA concern right now. The questioned problem is what can we know and broadcast over the air waves. MEMS is checking into this and will let us know what they find.
New Business
FCARC Not an Active ARRL Affiliated Club?
After make a change to his personal information, Chester was notified the number of ARRL members in the club had dropped below the required 51% to be listed as an ARRL Affiliated club. There has been some conflicting numbers as far as the roster goes. Craig is going to contact all members via e-mail and telephone, for those that don't have e-mail, to get an accurate count of ARRL members in the club. We will then look at the numbers and see if there really is a problem.
February Net Control Operator
Glenn King has volunteered to be the Net Control Operator for the month of February. If you would like to be a Net Control Operator, please notify Frankie Parks through the club's website. www.w5auu.org
Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP)
CSEPP will be conducting a drill February 8th. Some ARES-RACES members will participate. Glenn said as far as he knew the Faulkner County ARES-RACES was not going to be activated. Members may still monitor the repeaters as this is a good chance to listen and learn.
Donation
Jim Grinder donated the proceeds from the sale of a homebrewed UHF/VHF antenna. Thanks Jim!
***Club Dues***
The club started collecting dues at the meeting. The last day to pay club dues is at the meeting in February, the 14th. Dues are for the calendar year 2006. The club does take dues year round. But after this date, members who have not paid will be removed from the e-mailings and club roster. If you can't pay your dues in person, you can mail them to the club's post office address. See the webpage (www.w5auu.org) for the postal address.
