Craig will be e-mailing a copy of the ad that is to be placed in the Log Cabin's "Blueprint" page that runs in Sunday's newspaper. The Blueprint is an area for local clubs and organizations to post their services and also those looking for volunteer groups to help with events. The purpose of this is to help build a stronger community.
New Business
Perry Carleton Goes To Louisiana To Help Again
Perry has traveled with the Baptist's food crew down to Louisiana again. The crew fixed around 21,500 meals a day. He served on the cleanup crew at the Louie Armstrong airport runway in New Orleans. They had 20 semi-trucks of food and non-perishable food stacked in the parking lot. A preacher from a church in the area said they normal have 160 in attendance at Sunday school, but at this time only knew where one family was relocated.
He was on the state's number one food unit truck, an eighteen wheeler with a communications center on board. Perry didn't get to help with the communications. But he said he tried to hit several of the repeaters in the surrounding area but couldn't find one functioning.
The groups change out weekly to make sure the crews don't get over loaded. The crews usually consist of about 30 workers.
