Nothing new to report.

Toad Suck Daze Certificates

Everything has been taken care of.

I.D. Badges

Nothing new to report.

Anderson Power Poles

Glenn King has plenty of power poles left for sale. Glenn has stated that these are great universal connectors. He would like to see all club members and all emergency stations that have been setup convert to these connectors. This will save time during an emergency in case equipment must be switched out for whatever reason.

Club Members Lend A Hand

Several club members went to Hillman Byram's house to help him get back on the air. Hillman's equipment had been struck by lightening and damaged. Thanks to the club, Hillman is back on the air.

(JOTA) Jamboree On The Air

Nothing new was reported. Volunteers are still needed to help with this event. October 15th is the day of the event.

Simulated Emergency Test (SET)

Glenn said that at this time the SET is uncertain due to hurricane Katrina. He will keep the club updated on this.

Fair Parade

The Faulkner County fair parade is Tuesday, September 20th this year. Due to the hurricane evacuees, at this time there will be no police presence. Anyone that can volunteer to help is needed.

Volunteers need to report to the Central Fire Station located at Locust and Caldwell in downtown Conway. It has been asked that all volunteers report there around 1 P.M. Volunteers are needed to close off roads, help direct traffic around the parade area and to direct those in the parade to the correct locations.

Glenn King said the club volunteers need to use the 146.625- 114.8 repeater to communicate. The repeater will be setup somewhere in downtown Conway. On Sunday, September 18th, Glenn plans to have several of the volunteers meet downtown to test how well the repeater works and exactly where it needs to be placed.

More information will be announced on the club's Thursday night net at 7:30 P.M. So please tune in for that.
There will be a test of the repeater downtown Conway Sunday, September 18th at 3 P.M.

New Business

Don Owens Hurricane Evacuees Update.

Frankie Parks, Craig Mangrum, Roger Williamson, Kelly Boswell, and David Doty reported to the Don Owens sports complex September 5th to take messages for any hurricane Katrina evacuees that were trying to reach loved ones still missing or unreachable by other means. Only three messages were taken. It was still a good effort on the club's part.

Others who helped out in other areas were Roger and Helen Bargar who helped at the Red Cross shelter at the Meadowlake Baptist Church. Glenn King was also contacted by the Red Cross with messages to be passed. Greg Hutchinson went to Mississippi to help with his church's organization to help feed those affected by the hurricane. Perry Carleton has gone to Gonzalez, LA with another church group to help feed evacuees.

Arkansas Traveler 100

Jim Grinder mentioned that the Arkansas Traveler 100 race is coming up October 1st and 2nd. The C.A.R.E.N. club supports the communications for this race, but volunteers from other clubs are welcome to participate. Jim said he would like to put together a team to setup at a location and help with this race. The event lasts about 36 hours. Anyone who would like to volunteer for this may contact Jim.

Chester made a motion to adjourn. The club seconded it.
Meeting adjourned at 19:40

Don't forget about lunches at Smitty's BBQ on Fridays at around 11:00 am till we leave.
