FCARC Meeting Minutes for June 14, 2005

President Chester Robinson called the meeting to order at 18:20.

Chester Robinson gave a treasury report of $1066.82

MEMS Station Update


MEMS
Perry Carleton said the radio is in at MEMS, and that last Thursday, the Faulkner County Net was called by Craig Mangrum from that location using the new radio on a mag mount antenna. Perry will let us know when they are ready for us to install the antenna at MEMS.

City Comm Center Radio Update


City Comm Center
Chester Robinson reported that Glenn had received and test fitted the antenna bracket on the tower. The antenna and radio is also in and Glenn will schedule the installation date with them and advise us.

Field Day 2005


Field Day
A sign up sheet for scheduling and admission to the ADEMS center for Field Day was passed around. Our thanks to Perry Carelton for handling the purchasing and delivery of all food items.

The mayor of Morrilton invited anyone interested to come to Morrilton and participate in their emergency trailer on Field Day. He said the governor will sign a proclamation for all attending the event to have.

New Business

Boy's State/Governors School


Boy's State
John Norland has not heard anything yet from Boy's State. He said there may be little notice before we are asked to help.
Governors School has just started, and no word yet on when testing may be scheduled.

RLS Electronics in Russelville


A spokesman for RLS Electronics in Russelville announced they were open and specialized in ham radio equipment. They sell Kenwood and Icom radios. Location is at 1710 Parkway, off I-40 at exit 84. Hours presently are 1-5pm M-F and they need our business and support.

A motion to adjourn was made by Jim Durham. Frankie Parks 2nd . Meeting was adjourned at 19:10.

Our thanks to Jim Grinder for conducting and leading the testing session. It was his first time at bat, and all went pretty well. Three people tested after the meeting. Two for the written general class, and one for Code for his Extra.
Picado, Sergio, KE5CUY passed 5 Wpm Code and had CSCE for Elements 3 and 4. Upgraded to Extra class immediately.
