Old Business

Hospital and Incident Command System

Glenn King, N5KG, gave an update on the hospital. They have the equipment and the coax that we donated. We are waiting for them to run the coax.

Glenn also mentioned that another introductory course of the NIMS Incident Command System would be held in April. All volunteer organizations are required to take this and maybe a few other courses.
It depends on what level you are working on. But it is something that all ARES/RACES members will need to take. Right now the class is scheduled for some time the second or third week in April.

Skywarn and T-shirts/Jackets

Chester Robinson, N5MEF, gave a small report on the Skywarn class that was held in January.

The t-shirts and jackets are in. The printing is all that we are waiting on. Chester said hopefully we would have them some time next week.

FCARC 2 Meter Net and Upcoming Events

Frankie Parks, K5FRP, gave an update on the 2 meter net. There are about
8 to 11 checkins to the net each week. It meets on Thursday Nights at 19:30 on 145.210- PL 114.8

Frankie also discussed what events we might do over the next couple of months. Toad Suck Dazes was mentioned. The dates are April 29th, 30th, and May 1st. Frankie will e-mail an announcement to be printed in the QST magazine.

ID Badges

ID badges are in the process of being completed. Jim Grinder, who is doing the badges, was absent. Frankie Parks stated that he had talked to Jim and that he has some of them done.

New Business

Morrilton Club Meeting

Stewart Nelson, KD5LBE, said the next Morrilton meeting is April 12, 2005. Even though this falls on the same night as our meeting, some members have discussed going. They meet at the Farm Bureau. More details will follow FCARC's meeting.

MEMS

Perry Carleton, AE5EE, introduced David Turner, KD5JXK, from MEMS.
David talked about what would be needed and asked for other ideas of what might be needed to setup communication needs between MEMS in Conway and MEMS in Little Rock. They would like to stay in touch with the dispatch in Little Rock should normal means of communications fail. They have some equipment but need recommendations for exactly what all would be needed. Perry will get a list of the equipment they have and get back to the club. From there the club will make it's suggestions.

With no other new business, Craig Mangrum made a motion to adjourn and Frankie Parks seconded.

Testing
There was a testing held after the meeting. Kevin Blanton from Little Rock passed his technician test.

Don't forget about lunches at Smitty's BBQ on Fridays at around 11:00 am till we leave.
