President Chester Robinson called the meeting to order at 18:36.
Craig Mangrum gave a treasury report $721.32
Jackets, Hats, T-shirts, and Caps
Old Business
Chester Robinson: Jackets, t-shirts, and caps -- There need to be 10 orders before we can get them done. If you want to order and haven't, contact Chester.
MEMS Committee
MEMS Committee: Perry Carleton -- The 2 visitors from MEMS that were to be at this meeting couldn't make it. They will be at the January meeting. They have some equipment, but not sure what condition it's in or that it is adequate for what they need.
Pictures/ID Badges
Chester announced that Jim Grinder would be taking pictures after the meeting for the ID badges.
Skywarn Weather Spotter Course
January 11 at 7pm (this time is in question) at the Central Fire Station, or old McGee Center, in downtown Conway at the corner of Locust and Caldwell, there will be a Skywarn Weather Spotter course. January's meeting will be at 6pm so that those wanting to attend the Skywarn course can. Also there will be no testing next month. Craig Mangrum will e-mail John Robinson, who does the Skywarn Course, to make sure the time is correct.
Hospital 2M station
Frankie Parks and Glenn King went to the hospital to look at what still needs to be done to get them setup with a station.
Handicapped Ham back on the air
Glenn King and Jim Grinder gave a helping hand to a disabled ham operator. KC5HHZ, Chet Wright, had been report as off the air by a fellow ham in Arizona. Glenn and Jim were able to fix the problem and get Chet back on the air. It was also mentioned that Chet is unable to drive and it was suggested that some members of the club could pick him up for some of the luncheons and meetings if he wants. Please let one of the officers know if you can do this.
Thursday Night 2 meter net to start up.
New Business
Frankie Parks bought up that there's been some talk about bringing up the 2M club net again. The club was in full support of this idea. After much discussion, it was decided that the net would be on Thursday nights at 19:30. Net control operators are needed. Frankie Parks, Ken Halsted, and Craig Mangrum have already volunteered.
Incident Command Course
Glenn King: Incident Command Course -- Due to some new guidelines set forth by National Homeland Security, all emergency personnel, including those in voluntary groups, must take an Incident Command Course. This includes ARES/RACES groups. The class is being offered in a 4-hour session. There will be two sessions each day, 8am and 1pm, December 20-22, 2004. Anyone can attend this course and there is no pre-registration.
Club Officers Election
Electing Club Officers: It was time once again to elect club officers for the following year. Kelly Boswell resigned as Vice President. As he put it, he had been in office since last century. (We all appreciate your hard work Kelly)
For President, Chester Robinson was once again nominated. With no other nominations, Chester was unanimously voted President.
For Vice President, Frankie Parks was nominated. With no other nominations, Frankie was unanimously voted Vice President.
For Secretary/Treasurer, A motion was made that Craig Mangrum remain in this office and was also unanimously voted Secretary/Treasurer.
A motion to adjourn was made by Ken Chafin. Craig Mangrum 2^nd . Meeting was adjourned at 19:15.
No testing in January
No testing was held.
Don't forget about lunches at Smitty's BBQ on Fridays at around 11:00 am till we leave.
