The meeting was called to order at 18:31 by President Chester Robinson.

Chester Robinson had several announcements

Newspaper ad updated.


Newspaper ad was finally updated to the correct information.

Fair Parade a Success.


The fair parade was a success. Those who participated were Chester Robinson, Frankie Parks, Glenn King, Gerald Hogue, Jim Grinder, and Craig Mangrum. Perry Carleton passed along a thank you from the post office for helping get the mail truck through. The only incident was a lady that went into labor. Frankie helped her.

SET Simulation a Success.


The SET (Simulated Emergency Test) was October 2. It was a good exercise and was very active and busy. Those who participated in the SET were Chester Robinson, Glenn King, Frankie Parks, Jim Grinder, and Ken Chafin.

Jamboree On The Air October 16th.


JOTA (Jamboree On The Air) Chester turned this announcement over to Jon McFadden. The event will take place October 16. Volunteers need to be there at 8am. The event will run from 9am-4pm. Volunteers also need to bring their own food and drinks. There are about 1400 boys anticipated. Every boy ve to make a contact to gain credit. The talk-in frequency will be 145.210- PL Tone 114.8 and possibly 146.520 simplex.

MEMS wants Ham Radio Backup System.


Perry Carleton had an announcement concerning MEMS ambulance service. MEMS wants to have a 2 meter activity to test communications between the Conway and Little Rock MEMS offices. They have also invited us to come and setup during severe weather or disasters. Frankie Parks suggested to Perry that we might try to have a simulated emergency scenario with MEMS as part of the 2 meter activity and for regular training. Perry suggested we form a committee to be liaisons to MEMS. Perry Carleton, Ken Chafin, and Frankie Parks volunteered for the committee.

Jim Durham made the motion to adjourn and it was 2nd by Frankie Parks.

Meeting was adjourned about 19:30.

No testing was held due to a lack of VE's.

Don't forget about lunches at Smitty's BBQ on Fridays at around 11:00 am till we leave.
