Field Day Article ran in Log Cabin Paper

Several compliments were given to Frankie Parks and Craig Mangrum for the field day article that ran in the paper this past Saturday. Also, it should be noted that Jim Durham took the picture that was submitted with the article.

Club paper ads changed

Chester Robinson informed the club that the ads for the meetings and testings have been corrected now.

Standard Operating Procedures Draft

Ken Chafin passed around a draft of the Standard Operating Procedure agreement. When finished, this document will establish an agreement that the club will provide emergency communications for emergency agencies when the need arises.

Faulkner County Fair Parade

Glenn King spoke briefly about the fair parade. It will be Tuesday, September 21, at 5 PM. We will once again be helping with safety and providing communications. Glenn first mentioned that we would use the 146.970 repeater. But Jim Grinder mentioned there had been some problems with it, it was suggested that we use the 145.210 repeater as backup. There will be more details at the September meeting.

146.970 Repeater malfuntion

Since it was mentioned that there were problems with the 146.970 repeater, Glenn asked what problems there had been. After that was discussed, Glenn decided that he would test the feedline and the antenna with an analyzer. The repeater will more than likely be moved back to Glenn's house since there were no problems while it was there earlier.

Joint activities with Morrilton Club

Chester Robinson and Stewart Nelson, the mayor of Morrilton, have been talking some. Stewart was present at the meeting and discussed some joint club activities. One idea he presented was doing some disaster drills involving severe weather. With some future joint meetings, their club and ours will try some of these joint activities.

Stewart also informed our club of the weekly nets the Morrilton club holds. The 2 meter net is every Tuesday at 19:30 on 145.450- and their 10 meter net is every Thursday at 19:30 on 28.380mhz.

Club logo apparel

Craig Mangrum started the discussion on getting some apparel with the club logo on them. Frankie Parks volunteered to contact a lady in Vilonia that does t-shirts to see what the cost would be. Other apparel discussed was caps, jackets, and safety vests. Anyone willing to check into these other items are more than welcomed. Find out what you can about the costs and let us know at the next meeting.

A motion to adjourn was made by Frankie Parks and seconded. Meeting adjourned at 20:18.
