FCARC Meeting Minutes for May 11, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 19:20 by Glenn King.


Antenna Building Presentation/Soldering Technigues



Glenn gave a short presentation on building a dipole antenna. He also shared some tips on soldering techniques.

Toad Suck Daze Special Event Station Report



Perry Carleton gave a report on the special event station that was held during Toad Suck Days. There were 67 check-ins on the CAREN Club's 146.940 repeater. There were also 24 check-ins on 20 meters. There were two long distance check-ins on 20 meters. One was to Spain and one in Italy. Total number of check-ins was 91. (Sounds like a success!)

Field Day 2004 at the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management



Field Day is coming up June 26th and 27th. We discussed possible locations including ADEM (Arkansas Department of Emergency Management), MEMS where we held the Toad Suck Daze special event station, an offer by a club in Little Rock to join them at Lake Wood Village in North Little Rock, and Petit Jean Mountain. The room and creature comforts of the ADEM's site was preferred by all present. Perry Carleton made a motion to vote on it. Everyone was in agreement with the ADEM's site.

Thank you cards for CAREN Club and Conway MEMS



Craig Mangrum had thank you cards to sign by all present to send to the CAREN Club and MEMS for all their help. They will be mailed out to them Wednesday, June 12th.

Meeting was adjourned at 20:30.
